Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics, University of Maryland (1996). Over 25 years in medical AI and high-performance scientific computing, with 100+ publications (Nature Medicine, The Lancet Digital Health, Radiology). Rigorous mathematics that makes AI judgment trustworthy.

🔬 Smart Healthcare & Technical Innovation

  • Breakthrough Device Designation: led the team that developed PANCREASaver — the AI pancreatic cancer detection system — receiving FDA Breakthrough Device Designation in 2022 and the Taiwan MOHW medical device license in 2023.
  • Exceptional clinical precision: the system accurately predicts whether a CT scan contains pancreatic cancer and its location — 92.1% sensitivity for tumors under 2 cm, catching up to 92% of early lesions easily missed by the naked eye or radiologists.
  • Cross-domain industrialization: co-founded PanCAD.ai to turn laboratory research into commercially viable, clinically practical medical software — elevating Taiwan's international competitiveness in smart healthcare.
